About Us

Thanks for visiting our website, let us share a bit about ourselves.

We got together in 2011, but we didn’t set out to be working together. In fact, we were on completely different work paths from one another; Pete, who had studied sport science after leaving school, was a personal trainer and working in a gym and Brydie was working in public relations as an NHS Communications Manager.

This all changed in 2018, when signed off work with burnout and stress, Brydie spent several weeks feeling completely lost. With confidence, self-esteem and self-belief hitting rock bottom, it was at this point that something had to give.

“During the time I was signed off, I discovered the benefits exercise had on both my physical and mental health. By working out regularly, it provided me with an outlet to reset and refocus my mind and the thoughts racing through it, it not only played a fundamental part of my own recovery but is has since been a huge part of the direction I have taken.” – Brydie

Now on the same path, with a shared ethos to fitness and wellbeing and helping others, our coaching styles complement one another. We recognise the benefits we get from exercising, on both our physical health and mental wellbeing, and we truly believe fitness is more than just a workout for the body, it is also a workout for the mind too.

Together we have more than 25 years of experience, qualifications and knowledge in fitness, sports science and wellbeing.

Collectively, we hold:

  • Level 3 BTEC sports science
  • Foundation Degree in Sports Therapy
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor [both]
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer [both]
  • Level 3 Award in Supporting Pre and Postnatal Clients with Exercise and Nutrition
  • Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • Girls Gone Strong Certified Women’s Coaching Specialist
  • Children’s Fitness and Pilates
  • Youth Mental Health First Aider
  • Psychology Degree student

Pete’s particular focus is on the strength and conditioning aspect and sports injury rehabilitation side of the industry. While Brydie is on helping individuals, particularly women, to build resilience and discover their physical and mental strength.

“In 2000, due to a medial knee ligament rupture, I was unfit for trials with two professional football clubs, so gave up on my dreams. Looking back, I knew I had more to give and if I’d had a higher level of rehabilitation, I would have potentially avoided injury altogether had I had the right strength and conditioning beforehand. My study from here became fixated on ‘bigger, fitter, faster and stronger’. I learned that by having a well thought out plan of action and ‘trusting the process’ you can get incredible results in whatever your goal may be. My study was to fortify myself with all the knowledge I’d require to plan, produce and execute the very best programmes for whatever the goal might be.” – Pete

This focus led to the birth of the highly-successful and recognised SYSTEM21 Programme, which you can read more about here.

In 2020, we founded The Mindset Project, which has focused on, but not been exclusive to, supporting those in the community who have mental ill-health, those awaiting counselling and therapies, those with a health-related problem or condition or who have experienced a life-changing event (e.g. stroke), which has attributed to changes in their physical and mental state. You can read more about this here.

We both absolutely love our work and what we do. We also absolutely love the time we get when we’re not working too. Top of that list is spending time with our three children.
